What is CHMC certification?

CHMC (Certified Home Management Caregiver) is COHCASEL's own professional certification framework for domestic care workers. It has four tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Global-Ready — each with defined training modules, assessments, and practical evaluations. Every staff member we place has their CHMC certification number listed in our registry, which you can verify independently on our Verify page.

How long does placement typically take?

It depends on your tier: Standard placements are completed within 5 business days, Premium within 48 hours, and Elite/Concierge within 24 hours. We present 2–3 shortlisted, pre-screened candidates for you to interview before a final decision is made.

Do you provide live-in and live-out options?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer both. Live-in staff reside in your household and are available for extended-hour arrangements. Live-out staff commute daily. Some services (e.g. Household Manager, Private Chef) are available in both formats. Salary ranges differ slightly depending on accommodation status.

How do I start the placement process?

Submit a placement request via our "Find a Home Manager" form. You'll describe the role, the household, and any specific needs. Your assigned coordinator will contact you within one business day to confirm details and begin the shortlisting process.

Can I interview candidates before hiring?

Accepted Answer

Yes — always. We present 2–3 pre-screened candidates. You receive their written profile reports (background check results, reference notes, certifications) before any interview. Interviews can be in-person or via video call.

What if the placement doesn't work out?

Accepted Answer

Every placement includes a replacement guarantee: 48 hours for Standard, 24 hours for Premium, same-day for Elite. Within that window, if the placement isn't working for any reason, we will find a replacement at no additional placement fee. After the guarantee period, replacement placements are available at a reduced fee.

Who is responsible for the staff member's welfare?

As the employing household, you are responsible for the staff member's day-to-day welfare — fair treatment, agreed hours, and timely salary payment. COHCASEL remains the certification and support contact. For Premium and Elite clients, a coordinator conducts monthly check-ins to ensure both parties are satisfied.
