Why COHCASEL

Your Child Deserves More Than Someone Who's Available

Finding a nanny through a WhatsApp group or a referral from a friend is how most families in Nigeria do it. It works — until it doesn't. An unverified stranger, no contract, no training, and no accountability.

COHCASEL takes a fundamentally different approach. Every nanny in our network is background-checked, professionally trained, first-aid certified, and placed through a structured matching process that considers your child's age, personality, and specific needs.

We serve local Lagos families, returning diaspora households, and Nigerians abroad who need trusted care managed for their families back home — all under one roof.

The COHCASEL Standard

Every Nanny We Place Meets These Standards

We don't just find someone available. We find someone qualified, verified, and genuinely right for your child.

Police Clearance — Every Placement

Every nanny holds a current criminal record certificate. No exceptions, no shortcuts. We re-verify annually and check across multiple state databases.

Paediatric First Aid Certified

All childcare staff complete paediatric first aid and infant CPR training before their first placement. Certification is renewed every 12 months.

Child Development Training

Our nannies understand developmental milestones, age-appropriate activities, and how to support cognitive and emotional growth — not just babysit.

CHMC Childcare Certification

COHCASEL's own childcare standard goes beyond market norms. Nannies who hold CHMC certification are trained, assessed, and re-evaluated annually.

48-Hour Replacement Guarantee

If a placement doesn't work out in the first 30 days, we replace within 48 hours at no additional agency fee. We stand behind every match we make.

Diaspora Family Support

Living abroad? We manage the nanny, send weekly video updates, and provide a family WhatsApp group — so you're always connected to your children's care.

FAQs

Common Questions About Our Nanny Services

How do you screen and vet your nannies?
Every nanny goes through a 5-step screening: police background check, two employer reference verifications, health screening, an in-person structured interview, and a practical childcare skills assessment. CHMC certification is required for all placements.
Can I interview the nanny before committing?
Yes, always. We present 2–3 shortlisted candidates, arrange interviews at your home or via video call, and you can request a paid trial day to see the nanny work with your children before making your final decision.
What happens if the nanny doesn't work out?
We offer a 30-day placement guarantee. If you're unsatisfied for any reason within the first month, we replace within 48 hours at no additional agency fee. Your family's comfort comes first.
Can the nanny help with light housework too?
Yes. Many of our nannies are comfortable with child-related housework — laundry for children, tidying play areas, and preparing children's meals. Full housekeeping duties are handled by our separate household management service.
Do you have nannies for newborns and infants?
Yes — our Newborn Specialists are trained specifically for the 0–6 month stage, covering safe sleep practices, feeding support, sleep training, and developmental monitoring. Night nannies are also available.
Do your nannies have first aid training?
Yes, paediatric first aid and infant CPR certification are mandatory for all COHCASEL childcare placements. We verify certification before placement and it is renewed annually.
We're a diaspora family — can you manage the nanny on our behalf?
Absolutely. Our diaspora childcare management includes weekly video call coordination, a family WhatsApp group, monthly written reports from the nanny, and a COHCASEL account manager as your single point of contact.
Do you place nannies outside Lagos?
Yes. We serve Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt as primary cities. We can also discuss arrangements for Ibadan, Enugu, and other cities on request.
